If you've gotten this far you probably know my name is Ilan Morgenstern, and that I'm a bass trombone player. Currently one of the newest members of the incredible Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, a position I'm so excited about! I also enjoy teaching at the University of Houston Moores School of Music (It's a commute, but totally worth it!), playing recitals, teaching masterclasses, and all sorts of non-trombone related things too!
I hope you'll take a moment to check out some recordings I uploaded to media page, learn a bit more about me in my bio, and of course please drop me a line to say hello in the contact section.
I hope to hear from you soon!
“It’s Alive!” is a presentation of previously unrecorded and new works for the bass trombone. The project stems from a 12-year collaboration between bass trombonist Ilan Morgenstern and composer Robert Denham.
"There are very few sounds in my mind that reoccur over and over...Ilan now has one of those sounds"
"Morgenstern's playing is rhythmically driving, technically flawless, and unfailingly dynamic and exciting"
